18-year-old charged after recent head-on crash

An 18-year-old from Central Huron has been charged with several offences following a two-vehicle head-on crash that took place last week near Walton.

Huron County OPP and paramedics responded to a call just after 4 p.m. on January 31 on North Line, just south of Walton. When they got there, police found two heavily damaged vehicles with one occupant in each. Both drivers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

At the time, officers noticed the driver of one of the vehicles was showing physical signs of impairment.

The driver provided two samples to a qualified Intoxilizer Technician and both of samples registered over the legal limit.

Luke Forbes, 18, of Central Huron now faces a number of charges.  He has been released and has an upcoming court date scheduled for March 4, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
