GOJHL: Cyclones and Sugar Kings earn victories

Listowel 3 Stratford 1

Chayse Herrfort struck twice to lead the Listowel Cyclones over the Stratford Warriors 3-1.

Herrfort broke open a scoreless game with a power play goal early in the second. Trent Verbeek gave Listowel a 2-0 lead just over 30 seconds later.

Jake Ertel put the Warriors on the board with less than two minutes left in the period.

Herrfort's second goal was an empty netter at 18:37 of the third.

Holdyn Lansink and Brayden Krieger each had two assists in the win.

Evan Morrison earned the win with a 27 save performance.

Elmira 5 Waterloo 2

Mason McMahon had a pair of goals for Elmira and the Suger Kings beat the Waterloo Siskins 5-2.

Hunter Dubecki and Jeremey Goodwin scored and had an assist each. Goodwin's power play goal midway through the second would stand as the game winner.

Ivan Brewer also scored for Elmira: short handed an unassisted with less than five minutes left in regulation.

The Siskins got goals from Owen Lane and Sam Cherry.

Police search for missing swimmer

Lambton OPP will have an increased presence in Grand Bend as they continue to search for a swimmer that was reported missing on Friday.

OHL preseason game in Watford sold out

The matchup between the London Knights and Erie Otters is taking place on Saturday at 4 p.m., and is a fundraiser for upgrades to the Brooke-Alvinston-Inwood Community Centre.
