Man charged with prohibited weapon offence following traffic stop

Huron County OPP have laid charges after a prohibited weapon was seized at a traffic stop.

On Tuesday, February 6, at 3:47 pm, a Huron County OPP officer stopped a sedan on Orange Street North in Clinton for a traffic violation. Once the driver was identified, it was discovered he was wanted by London police for traffic offences. The driver was arrested and searched, and was found to be in possession of a spring assisted pocket knife, which is prohibited in Canada.

As a result, 41-year-old Jim Bob Ward of Clinton has been charged with possession of a prohibited weapon. He was released from custody with a court appearance scheduled for March 11, 2019 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
