Driving conditions not improving

Squalls continue to dance across the region Friday afternoon causing a headache for drivers.

As of 3:15 p.m., there were a number of road closures because of weather and crashes. Click here for road closures.

There is a snow squall warning for Huron, Bruce and Grey counties with a blowing snow advisory for Perth and northern Wellington. The weather radar showing scattered squalls throughout all five counties. And very gusty winds are reported as well.

As 2 p.m. Friday afternoon, callers talked to CKNX News about a number of cars off the road on Highway 86 east of Listowel. Witnesses said at least 10 cars were in the ditch between Wellington Road 10, the Moorefield Road, and Highway 19.

In Wellington, Highway 6 was closed between Wellington 109 and Wellington Road 17, south of Arthur, due to a crash.

Grey County OPP and Bruce Peninsula OPP are urging motorists to avoid any unnecessary travel as the weather and road conditions begin to deteriorate throughout the area.
