Drugs, stolen property seized following police raid in Hanover

Hanover police have made an arrest after a search warrant was executed in Hanover.

Police received notice of illegal activity at a residence on 10th Street and executed a search warrant in the early evening hours on Thursday.

Officers located and seized a quantity of methamphetamine, brass knuckles, and recovered identification and personal property that had been reported stolen in 2018 from persons residing in Hanover, West Grey, Markham, and Elmira. These items included driver’s licences, credit cards, birth certificates, an Ontario Health card, and a Canadian passport.

As a result, 49-year-old John Kolakowski of Hanover was arrested without incident and faces a number of criminal theft and drugs charges. He was held overnight for a bail hearing on Friday and has been released on his own recognizance to appear in court next on February 20.
