Cold weather slows down Clinton Hospital roof repairs

Repair work continues to the ceiling on parts of the second floor of the Clinton Public Hospital.

Huron-Perth Healthcare Alliance CEO Andrew Williams said there are two components; they had to do an asbestos assessment and then they can start the actual restoration work.

Williams said the cold weather has slowed down the project.

"The weather has caused us to look at things differently because we're taking insulation out of the roof, and of course with the weather being as cold, that's influenced it, but we're now tracking to have the work finished in the April-May time frame with the plan to re-open early in June," he said.
