The Huron County Foodbank Distribution Centre is celebrating a $2,000. donation.
Corteva Agriscience is offering the grant to help offset costs for the Food Bank’s new “Snacks to Grow & Lead,” project. It will provide weekly nutritious snacks to over 1,000 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 at three community schools.
Corteva Agriscience, Agriculture Division of DowDuPont, makes contributions to community-based organizations on behalf of the business and its employees
“We understand that proper nutrition and access to food plays a major role in a student’s ability to learn and reach their full potential in school,” said Tim Martin, production location manager with Corteva Agriscience in Wingham. “We’re proud to support the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre and help make a positive impact on students’ daily lives.”
“Our vision is to make hunger non-existent in our communities, but we know there are students going to school without breakfast and often without lunches,” said Mary Ellen Zielman, executive director of the Huron County Food Bank Distribution Centre. “We thank Corteva Agriscience for their support. Through ‘Snacks to Grow and Lead,’ we will be able to make nutritious foods available for children in need.”
