Health team amalgamation talks begin in Bluewater-Grand Bend area

The Bluewater Area Family Health Team and the Grand Bend Area Community Health Centre are looking into the possibility of an amalgamation.

Bluewater Board Chair Gary Alcock said it's a three-phase project and they are in the first phase of determining if the amalgamation would provide benefits to the patients and to each clinic.

"The benefits we're talking about are the sharing of our collective experience and resources, improving the capacity to respond to emergent needs, expanding programs and services to our communities and keeping our resources for our communities," he said.

Alcock said they have no deadlines other than establishing that there are potential benefits in continuing the process. That decision should be made in June.
