New location of Blyth Fire Hall & Public Works revealed

The Township of North Huron has announced the purchase of property at the north end of Blyth that will be the new home of the Blyth Fire Hall and Public Works Department.

Council had been looking at a separate property on North Street, as well as a location within the Blyth Campground, however opposition shown by local residents prompted council to look elsewhere.

The new property is currently agricultural land, and is just south of the Blyth town sign at the north end of town.

Councillor Chris Palmer notes that although the new property was more expensive, North Huron "listened to the citizens", and says the Township avoided a "serious situation" by settling on the new property.
