Another company is opening an office in Kincardine to support Bruce Power.
Johnson Controls will partner with Bruce Power on a vision of a SMART Campus. The new project office at 926 Queen Street will focus on design-assist, delivery and commissioning of best-in-class building technologies and services.
Jennifer Edey, Bruce Power’s vice president of site services, said Johnson Controls is helping the company achieve a transition to a modern way of operating buildings and infrastructure.
Johnson Controls has been involved in more than 500 energy projects, with solutions that have reduced carbon dioxide emissions by 15 million metric tons and generated savings of $7.5 billion since 2000.
"Bruce Power strategic partnership with Johnson Controls on SMART building technology played as a key factor for us to establish our newest location in Kincardine,” said John Wrycraft, area general manager with Johnson Controls. "Through Johnson Controls’ many community-involvement initiatives, we look forward to supporting both Bruce Power and Bruce County at many community events."
"We run a small municipality on site, with over 30 business-critical buildings that support power generation," Edey said. "Smart buildings are more cost-effective, optimize how space is used, and minimize environmental impact. Johnson Controls has already demonstrated its community commitment by becoming a platinum sponsor of the Kinetics Knights robotics team."
