911 misdial in Markdale uncovers outstanding warrant

A 911 misdial resulted in the arrests of two Grey County residents.

The OPP responded to a 911 call Tuesday from a cell phone in Markdale. Police spoke with a woman who indicated that she had dialled in error while setting up a new phone and that there was no emergency.

Police discovered there was an outstanding arrest warrant for the 43-year-old woman by Barrie Police Service. She was arrested and turned over to Barrie police.

Police also spoke with a man at the residence who was found to be breaching a condition of his court recognizance by being at that residence. He was arrested and held for a bail hearing.

The 39-year-old Township of Chatsworth man was remanded in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for Friday.
