Women's House Bruce Grey calls on women to unite

Women's House Bruce Grey is partnering with Bruce County's Business to Bruce organization to mark International Women's Day.

The event will be held this evening (March 7) from 6-9 p.m. at the Lakeshore Recreation Club in Port Elgin.

The event will call upon women to unite to make a collective impact for global change.

It will explore how female entrepreneurs, businesses, and the private sector can work together to create meaningful progress on social issues. Keynote speaker Andi Sharma is an internationally recognized social researcher and human rights advocate based in Manitoba.

Women’s House will also announce the winner of the Woman of Distinction Award and the Young Woman of Distinction Award.  All proceeds will be donated to Women’s House.

The Women’s House actively works towards “an atmosphere in society in which all are respected, safe and valued as individuals.”

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
