UPDATE: Fire in downtown Kincardine

Multiple fire departments responded to an early morning fire in downtown Kincardine.

The fire on Queen Street forced the closure of a part of the road between Harbour Street and Lambton Street at 5:30 a.m. on Monday after firefighters and police responded at 3 a.m.

A video, posted below, shows smoke coming out of the windows of the second story. That video was submitted to CKNX News by a witness just after 6:30 a.m.

According to the Lakeside Downtown Kincardine Facebook page, the fire above Becker's Shoes and West Shore Clothing Shop was contained to the second and third floors.

There was heavy smoke and water damage to the main floor.

The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshal will investigate and the Mount Forest OPP Forensic Identification Services is also assisting with the investigation.

Queen Street between Durham Street and Durham Market North remained closed while emergency crews were at the scnene.

There are no other details from investigators at this time in regards to how the fire started.
