North Perth budget work almost done

There will soon be some clarity regarding the North Perth budget for 2019.

The budget committee is nearly ready to settle on its final numbers, but there is still some work to do.

Chair of the Budget Committee and Deputy Mayor Doug Kellum said the process is nearly over.

“The budget process is rolling along, it’s going really smooth right now. We’re coming up on another meeting next week, and then we have the public open house I believe on April 3,” said Kellum.

Deputy Mayor Kellum said the committee nearly has a number they are working with in terms of this year’s tax levy increase.

“Well right now we’re looking at a 4.9% increase but that’s not the final number, the final number will be determined on each household on an individual basis,” added Kellum.
