Stolen truck used in gas thefts around midwestern Ontario

Grey County OPP allege a pick-up truck stolen from Hanover is connected to gas drive-offs in the Townships of Southgate and Georgian Bluffs.

One gas drive-off was reported March 10 at about 2:52 p.m. from the Esso Gas station on Main Street East in Dundalk.

An unknown man pumped $94 of fuel into a burgundy Dodge Ram pickup truck and left without any effort to pay for the fuel.

While investigating the theft of fuel, police received information regarding a stolen pick-up truck from Hanover. The stolen truck matched the description of the truck used in the gas drive-off in Dundalk.

Then on March 11, the driver of a burgundy Dodge Ram pumped $57 worth of fuel from Springmount Esso on Highway 6 and 21 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs and left without paying.

Police believe the same vehicle was used in both gas drive-offs.
