Palmerston auto parts plant incorporates solar into expansion

An addition to the TG Minto auto parts plant in Palmerston will help reduce energy consumption.

The plant will reduce power usage with skylights. And the building has been designed to accommodate solar panels at a future date.

The goal is to reach "zero energy" meaning the building can use the energy that it produces through solar. But there is no firm date on when that will be done.

The work will cost $4.2 million.

CORRECTION: On March 20, 2019, BlackburnNews.com incorrectly reported that the TG Minto plant in Palmerston will generate electricity through solar panels. While that is in a future plan, it is not happening right away. The correction has now been made in the above article.
