South Huron property owners get a break

There's good news for South Huron taxpayers.

CAO Dan Best said the 2019 budget contains a tax rate increase in their rural area of .15 per cent, and in the urban area, it's 1.17 per cent.

Best added for the average home assessed at $265,000, the tax increase in rural areas is $2.27, and in the urban area, it's an increase of $20.79.

He said one of the things that helped council was a survey that taxpayers were asked to fill out near the end of last year.
