Johnson backstops St. Anne's to big wins

The St. Anne's girls hockey team is all but guaranteed to take home a medal from the OFSAA championships in Midland.

They earned back-to-back shut outs yesterday including a 3-0 game 3 win over Eden to clinch first place in their pool.

They went on to beat Holy Trinity 4-0 in the quarterfinals despite having little rest between games. Jamie Johnson earned both shut outs, her second and third in four games.

Today they take on defending bronze medallist St. David from Kitchener in the semifinal this morning then they will play for either bronze or gold this afternoon.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
