No municipal increase in Goderich taxes

The mayor of Goderich is quite pleased that council was able to approve a budget with a zero per cent increase.

John Grace said that was one of his campaign promises so he was very pleased to be able to do that.

"That's the first time in a long, long time that that's been done. And with that, we were still able to fund a very significant $75,000 towards the Foundation of the AMGH and its expansion and also an upgrade to the CT scanner."

Grace said that it doesn't matter whether its farm, residential or commercial, assessments have all gone up all across Huron County.

They still have to get the county and the education levy, before they'll have their final tax figure.
