Suspect dumps drugs in foot chase in Central Huron

OPP officers put a dent in the supply of methamphetamine in Huron County after making an arrest Wednesday afternoon.

Police were called to a residence on Tipperary Line in Central Huron after the homeowner reported two suspicious men were in his basement.

Police spotted one man running away from the residence through a field. Officers chased the man, as saw the suspect throwing items away as he ran.

After taking him into custody, police started collecting the discarded items.

What they found was over $17,000 worth of methamphetamine, along with electronic devices, and a digital scale.

A 22-year-old Central Huron man is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking and failing to comply with a probation order. He will be held in custody for the weekend until a bail hearing scheduled for Monday in Goderich court.
