PJHL: Hawks hold on to tie series at 2-2

The Exeter Hawks nearly blew a three goal lead but held on to beat Lakeshore 3-2 and knot their PJHL West Conference Final at 2-2.

Morgan Reed backstopped the Hawks to victory, stopping 38 shots and earning first star honours.

Liam Melady opened the scoring on the power play midway through the first. Evan Hayter scored less than four minutes later to give the Hawks a 2-0 lead heading into the second.

Jonathon Frook scored midway through the second to put the Hawks up 3-0.

Brendan Soto put the Canadiens on the board with a power play goal just 27 seconds into the third. Eric Larue scored midway through the final frame to put the visiting team to within a point but they couldn't complete the rally.

Jon Baker set up two for the Hawks. Melady had a goal and an assist.

Game 5 is Friday night at the Lakeshore Atlas Tube Centre at 8 p.m.
