Fanshawe setting up course at Oakwood Resort

Fanshawe College is expanding to South Huron.

Associate Dean John Mombourquette told Goderich Council on Monday night that the college is planning to start up a culinary skills and management program at the Oakwood Resort this September.

Mombourquette said they have worked with Huron County and the Oakwood Resort and they have room for 12 to 14 international students as well as seats for a few domestic students.

"What we've been finding from the industry, communities such as London, Woodstock, St. Thomas and Simcoe, where we also have campuses, they've had a lot of success having international students come in and working in these fields," he said. "And these are people who are interested in coming to Ontario, specifically interested in coming to Huron County."

Fanshawe is planning to start the two-year culinary skills and management program at Oakwood Resort this September.
