Proton Station man faces stunt driving charge

A Grey County man has lost his car and his driver's licence for a week and has a date in court next month.

Police spotted a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed along Highway 89 in Melancthon Township around 9 a.m. Thursday.

An OPP officer clocked the 2018 Nissan travelling at 162 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

The vehicle was stopped and the driver, a 23-year-old man from Proton Station, was charged with racing a motor vehicle with excessive speed.

The driver will appear in court in May to answer to the stunt driving charge.
