The service notes that some of the toughest times to get donations are around holiday long weekends, and with Easter and the May long weekend coming up, they want to try and build up more stock, as blood has a certain shelf life and the demand for it doesn't stop.
The next blood drive will be Wednesday, May 1 at the Owen Sound Legion at 1420 2nd Avenue West, from 2 p.m. until 7 p.m.
