Police investigating assault with baseball bat

An arrest was made following an assault that recently occurred in Mitchell.

Perth County OPP determined that on April 11th during the day, two males were involved in an argument that escalated and resulted in one man assaulting the other with a baseball bat. The victim contacted police the following day after he had admitted himself to hospital. The other male was arrested after he turned himself in to the Sebringville OPP detachment.

A 21-year-old West Perth man has been charged with aggravated assault, and will answer to the charges on May 13 in Stratford.

The incident remains under investigation and any witnesses should contact Perth County OPP or Crime Stoppers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
