Bruce-Grey Conservatives pick candidate Monday

Conservative Party members in the Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound riding will vote on Monday for a candidate for the October federal election.

There are five residents seeking the Conservative nomination; Rick Byers, Paul Vickers, Ken Brown, Chad Richards and Alex Ruff.

There are over 2,600 Conservative Party members eligible to vote in the riding. They will cast ballots at East Ridge Community School in Owen Sound from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Retiring Conservative MP Larry Miller has represented the riding for 15 years in Ottawa.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
