Grey county man facing charges after firearm incident

A Grey Highlands man is facing a number of firearms-related offences after an incident last weekend.

On the morning of April 28, a family of four from Collingwood were walking on a rural property on South Line A in the Municipality of Grey Highlands when gunshots went off nearby.

A man, roughly 20 feet away from a fence row, shot off a number of rounds into the air above the family and yelled that they were trespassing.    The family immediately ran back to their vehicle and called police.    No one was injured.

As a result, a 46-year-old Grey Highlands man faces a number of charges including careless use of a firearm, pointing a firearm and not storing a firearm/restricted weapon properly.

The man is scheduled to appear in Owen Sound Court on May 16.
