A call from a concerned driver about a car in a ditch in Perth East in February led police to a substantial drug seizure.
OPP officers located the car and driver and determined that his ability to operate a vehicle was impaired. He was transported to the Sebringville OPP detachment for further testing, and charged with operation while impaired, and failure to comply with demand to provide a sample.
Drugs seized at the time were later determined through analysis to be fentanyl and carfentanil. They had a total estimated street value of $10,600.
Additional charges against the 25-year-old Toronto man include possession for the purpose of trafficking opioids.
He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on June 10.
