High levels of air pollution are possible this afternoon.

An AIR QUALITY WARNING is in place due to the possibility of deteriorating air quality. Hot and sunny conditions are expected to cause increasing ground-level ozone concentrations this afternoon. Moderate risk AQHI values are expected throughout the day with the potential of short-term high risk AQHI values in the afternoon.

When air pollution levels are high, everyone should limit time outdoors. Consider reducing or rescheduling outdoor sports, activities and events.

You may experience mild and common symptoms such as eye, nose and throat irritation, headaches or a mild cough. More serious but less common symptoms include wheezing, chest pains or severe cough. If you think you are having a medical emergency, seek immediate medical assistance.

People more likely to be impacted by outdoor air pollution, including people aged 65 and older, pregnant people, infants and young children, people with an existing illness or chronic health condition, and people who work outdoors, should reduce or reschedule strenuous activities outdoors and seek medical attention if experiencing symptoms.

Updated at 2:50 p.m.:
A man is dead following a crash just north of Stratford Thursday morning.
Police, fire and paramedics were called to the scene on Perth Line 42 at Road 122 around 7 a.m.
The crash was between a minivan, travelling east on Perth Line 42, and an SUV, travelling south on Road 122.
Police said the driver of the minivan, 44-year-old Jason Satchell of West Perth, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
The female driver of the SUV, Melissa Kreyger, 53, of Perth East was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
The area of the crash just north of Stratford is still closed as hydro crews repair a damaged pole.
An investigation is still ongoing.
