Dashwood Industries leaving Centralia location

The mayor of South Huron is sorry to see Dashwood Industries leaving Centralia, but he said he understands the company's desire for more room to accommodate growth.

George Finch said they've always enjoyed a great relationship with Dashwood and the fact that the company has been in the community for 90 years is something they can both take pride in.

The company has announced it will be moving its operation to a bigger location in Strathroy in the new year.  A company spokesperson said all 140 employees have been given the option to relocate and keep their jobs at the new plant.

The new Dashwood Industries building in Strathroy formerly belonged to auto-parts manufacturer Wescast Industries, which closed the plant in 2014.
