Perth OPP educating seniors to be aware of scammers

Perth County OPP is giving presentations to seniors to help them avoid becoming the victim of fraud.

In a release, police said they are continually educating people about scams but people are still falling prey.

They are holding four sessions for seniors in the county at library branches in Mitchell, Listowel and Milverton.

Session 1:

Where: West Perth Library, 105 St. Andrew Street S, Mitchell

When: Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at 6:30 p.m.

Session 2:

Where: North Perth Library, 260 Main Street, Listowel

When: Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 2 p.m.

Session 3:

Where: North Perth Library, 260 Main Street, Listowel

When: Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at 7 p.m.

Session 4:

Where: Perth East Library, 27 Main Street South, Milverton

When: Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 1 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
