UPDATE: Grey Highlands man killed in crash

A Grey Highlands man is dead after a single-vehicle crash in the Township of Sullivan.

Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police said on Wednesday just before 8:30 a.m., emergency crews responded to the crash on Grey Road 25 west of Highway 6, where a vehicle had gone off the road and was found submerged in water. Police said it is unknown which direction the vehicle was travelling.

The driver and only occupant of the vehicle, 61-year-old James Drummond of Grey Highlands, was pronounced dead as a result of the crash.

Grey Road 25 between Concession 8 and Mulock Road was closed following the collision but it has since reopened.

Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact the Grey Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
