UPDATE: Highway 7/8 and Forest Road reopened after structure fire

**Updated as of 4 p.m. July 8, 2019**

A structure fire closed part of Highway 7/8 east of Stratford for about seven hours Sunday afternoon.

An additional roadway that was closed due to the fire has been re-opened now, as well.

Fire crews from Sebringville, Shakespeare, Milverton and Stratford all responded to the fire on Forest Road along with Perth County Paramedics.

Part of Highway 7/8 was closed from Perth Road 110 to Road 111 for about seven hours to help firefighters battle the blaze on Forest Road. Police have confirmed that the small closed off section of Forest Road is now open.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
