Annual Warden's Golf tourney raising money for local causes

The weather cooperated beautifully for this year's Huron County Warden's Golf Tournament at the Woodlands Golf Course in Clinton on Friday.

This was Warden Jim Ginn's second tournament. Ginn says the first tournament raised funds for the Huron Hospice.

“The first Warden's Tournament we raised funds for the Huron Hospice, ironically right across the road from the golf course. And this time we're raising funds for the re-furbishment of the mental health unit at Goderich Hospital.”

Ginn says they don't know yet exactly how much money was raised.

Ginn points out the tournament is a great team-building event for county staff and both county and municipal councillors and it's also a way for the county to give back to the community.

He explains, as a county and as municipalities, they do a lot of business with a lot of businesses in Huron County.

“We, as a county and as municipalities, do a lot of business with a lot of businesses in Huron County, so we ask them to sponsor some things and donate some funds towards some special causes in the community and we get overwhelming response from them.”
