Local projects for road refurbishments get Connecting Links funding

Two projects in Bruce and Grey are receiving substantial funding to help complete them.

Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Walker announced today that the Town of South Bruce Peninsula and Owen Sound will collectively receive a max of just shy of $4 million to refurbish two local roads.

South Bruce Peninsula will get a max of $3 million towards the reconstruction of Berford Street from Mary Street to Division Street including traffic signals at Frank Street and George Street. Owen Sound will get a max of just shy of $1 million toward the rehabilitation of 16th Street from 9th Avenue East to 18th Avenue East.

The money is coming from the Connecting Links program.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
