One vehicle responsible for two collisions in Owen Sound

Police have determined that one vehicle was responsible for two collisions Tuesday morning on the Sunset Strip, west of Owen Sound.

Witnesses reported an SUV suddenly backed into the No Frills store, then accelerated forward across the parking lot, through the lights and into a wooded area behind The Beer Store.

The driver, an 81-year-old Owen Sound man, was the only occupant in the SUV. He was taken to hospital with minor injuries.  No pedestrians were injured and no vehicles were damaged.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the actions of the driver.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
