Counterfeit suspect arrested in Owen Sound

Police in Owen Sound have made an arrest in connection with a number of counterfeit $100 bills that were circulating in the area in the last week.

Officers arrested a 32-year-old Owen Sound man Wednesday evening.

He's been charged with several counts of distributing and possessing counterfeit money, as well as fraud, theft and breach of his probation order.  He's scheduled to appear for a bail hearing on Thursday.

Police caution local businesses that there may still be some of the counterfeit $100 bills circulating in the area.

The bills that have been seized have identical serial numbers (EKR2223601) and a blue stamp on the back of the bill.
