Bentinck man charged with firing a crossbow at a woman

A 35-year-old Bentinck man is accused of firing a crossbow at a woman.

West Grey police said they were called around 7:40 a.m. on Monday to a home on Allan Park Road for reports a man had fired a crossbow at a woman.

Police said the woman was not hurt and was able to escape.

When police arrived, officers found a man perched on top of a hill in some bushes. Police were able to negotiate the man's surrender and get the crossbow away from him.

The man is charged with numerous offences including uttering threats, weapons dangerous, and two counts of possessing a crossbow contrary to a prohibition order.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
