Women charged with assaulting, resisting police

Two South Huron women are charged with assaulting and resisting police after an incident early Civic Holiday Monday in Grand Bend.

Lambton OPP said while trying to make an arrest just after 1 a.m. in a disturbance on Main Street West, an officer was assaulted.

Police said a second person intervened and an OPP auxiliary member was assaulted, and an OPP cruiser was damaged.

Another officer was struck while escorting the suspects into the Lambton OPP detachment.

The two women, aged 23 and 21, are scheduled to appear in Sarnia court at a later date.

The 21-year-old is also charged with obstructing police.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
