West Grey declares climate change emergency

The Municipality of West Grey has joined other communities across the province to declare a "climate change emergency."

The move follows a presentation from local residents calling for West Grey to adopt the declaration.

West Grey Mayor Christine Robinson said that with this declaration, they are signalling a commitment to the environment and a commitment to future generations.

Mayor Robinson pointed to several stewardship initiatives already at work in the municipality.

That includes a recent project on Grey Road 71 that saw 4.6 kilometres of road recycled and the continued updates to LED lighting at West Grey facilities.
