Another winery opens in Huron County

Huron County's newest winery is now open.

2nd StreetLight Estate Winery is located along Highway 8 between Goderich and Clinton.

Co-owner Sahadev Banerjee said the project has been a dream of he and his wife, Shannon, for some time.

"Well, first you have the dream and then you move on from the dream to finding the property, to planting the grapes, it's four years till they mature, which is this year for us. And then on top of that, we have the winery build, which we actually did which was about a two-year process to get to the point where we're open," he said.

Banerjee said they are offering three different types of wine.

"We have our one red, which is a vintner's blend made up of Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Serau, in that order," he said. "We have a white, which is a Huron County grape called Vidal, it's a delicious wine called Good, and then we also have a Riesling."

Banerjee said the reward ultimately justifies the effort, but it's definitely a long-term project and a very interesting journey.
