Power workers union supports Wingham and District Hospital

The Power Workers’ Union Bruce Site Equity Committee has donated $7,000 to the Wingham & District Hospital.

The ongoing support from the union is helping the hospital improve and update the medical equipment.

The latest funding brings the hospital closer to a new Laparoscopic Tower in the operating room. Laparoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure for abdominal surgeries. Improving the equipment means the better image quality, greater precision, reduced risk of complications, smaller scars and overall better outcomes for patients.

The WDH Foundation hopes to achieve the goal of fully funding the Laparoscopic Tower by participating in the CKNX Healthcare Heroes Radiothon. The radiothon will take place Saturday, October 19, 2019.
