Free local event to focus on mental wellness

A free community event focusing on mental wellness is being held on Saturday in Paisley.

The "Hope Not Dope" event will take place at the Paisley Fairgrounds Palace all afternoon, starting with inspirational speaker Joe Roberts at 1 p.m. The afternoon will also feature a BBQ and family events from 2:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

The event will also have live music and is being described as a Family Fun Day, with lessons on building resiliency and how to foster inspiration into long-term success, as well as being more in tune with your personal mental health.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
