Meaford's Annual Scarecrow Invasion expands this year

Preparations are underway for the 23rd annual Scarecrow Invasion and Family Festival in Meaford this year.

The scarecrow lineup has been assembled, and they are in the process of being dressed by students at Georgian Bay Community School and many volunteers.

The event has also announced it will expand, with the scarecrows also invading Bognor on top of Meaford and Station Hill.      Bognor volunteers have designed 36 of their own unique scarecrows to join the invasion.

This year's Scarecrow Invasion will begin the first week of September, and local businesses throughout the municipality are invited to create scarecrow displays and compete for the Patches trophy.

The judging will begin October 1st.
