Man facing drug trafficking charges following death in Saugeen First Nation

A man is facing drug trafficking charges after a woman died of an apparent opioid overdose in Saugeen First Nation.

Provincial police say the 24-year-old woman was found early in the morning of August 10th and a 33-year-old man was arrested several days later.

He's been charged with trafficking an opioid other than heroin, as well as trafficking methamphetamine.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
