Huron East ATV rollover results in injuries

A 24-year-old man from California is facing criminal charges and two passengers were sent to hospital with serious injuries following an all-terrain vehicle crash over the weekend in Huron East.

Late Saturday night, OPP officers responded to a campground on Walton Road to investigate an ATV side-by-side roll-over. Two adult passengers suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries when they were thrown from the machine.

While speaking with the driver, the investigating officer noted the driver had been consuming alcohol. The driver failed a roadside screening test, and was arrested and was transported to the Exeter OPP Detachment for further breath tests.   Both of the samples he provided were over the legal limit.

A 24-year-old man from Victorville, California has been charged with two counts of operating a motor vehicle while impaired causing bodily harm, two counts of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, and taking a motor vehicle without consent.
