Compass Minerals to fund student busing to Huron County Museum

Huron County's director of cultural services is looking forward to a new partnership with Compass Minerals.

The company is putting up $5,000 to cover some of the cost of transporting students to visit the Huron County Museum or Historic Gaol.

Director Beth Rumble said they had just completed their strategic plan and one of their goals over the next four years was to engage more with young people in Huron County.

"This is a great way to take up one of those areas that may be preventing school children from coming to the museum, so we were able to partner with Compass Minerals to create this bus program," she said.

Rumble said they've been overwhelmed with teachers who are getting ready for the school year and are interested in the program.
