GSCA and SVCA examining possible shared GM/CAO position

With a recent retirement of the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority's CAO, and the impending retirement of Saugeen Valley Conservation's general manager, the idea of a shared GM/CAO position is being examined.

The GSCA and SVCA boards will look into the potential benefits of having one person fill the role of GM and CAO for both conservation authorities, which could include improved service levels, shared best practices, maintenance and improvement of relationships with their watershed municipal partners. The boards of the conservation authorities also anticipate that there could possibly be the creation of more potential career opportunities for staff within the GSCA and SVCA.

With the approval of both boards, the next step will be a meeting with conservation authority directors and staff, both County CAOs and Director of Human Resources to have an in-depth discussion on the possibility of a shared GM and CAO.
