OPP target school safety in Wellington County

Wellington County OPP officers are trying to get drivers to keep the safety of children in mind, now that school is back in session. A Back-to-School Traffic Safety Campaign saw officers deployed to school zones throughout the county to conduct a high-visibility, zero tolerance, enforcement initiative. Anything that could put a child's life and well-being at risk was targeted As a result, 35 charges were laid against drivers and student pedestrian safety was preserved in our school zones.

Reducing hazardous driving behaviours should be on all driver's minds.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
