Hanover man wins $250K with ticket purchased at Foodland Hanover

A Hanover man won big in the lottery. Greg Donaldson is $250,000 richer after scratching an OLG Instant Win ticket at the Foodland in Hanover.

He says at first he thought his prize was a lot smaller.

"Thought I only won 250 dollars. Scanned it in the little machine, that's what I seen and then Mary who works at Foodland put it in the big machine and it came up $250,000.

I just about fell on the floor I couldn't believe it," laughed Donaldson.

Donaldson's been on disability for over 20 years after an accident working construction. He's also worked part time at the Hanover Raceway but he's not doing that anymore. Donaldson says he's using the money to pay off debts for himself and his son and hopes to buy a house. While it's a lot of money, he plans on using it wisely.

"I have to be careful what I do and what I spend now and just watch my pennies. Keep on living the way I was living I guess but a little bit higher on the hog."
